Lavender? Funny name, that...
There is a time for everything,
And a season for everything under the sun
Ecclesiastes
I don't see the summer as it wanes
Just a subtle change of light upon your face
Bruce Springsteen
I think souls know no age.
The only thing that knows age is the mind
Shailene Woodley
"Lavender" comes from Norman French. My paternal ancestors crossed the Channel with the Norman conquest to settle in England. I like to think an ancient Lavender or two may have worked on the Bayeux tapestry, then the cutting edge of the visual communications industry; a world-famous web woven in cloth. Now that the web we know stands connected through fibres of glass and not silk, I would like to think this Lavender maintains a leading position in the field, some 300 years later!
I train software development for a leading specialist firm in the City of London, and live in windswept Donegal. Prior to this I worked extensively in the creative communications industries as a content provider with track records in advertising photography, web development, filmmaking, screenwriting, and design for printers and publishers. I have been developing commercial web sites since the world wide web was but a toddler of four years' old. A toddler with a vision.
Thank you for reading. May you take a little of my dream, and my truth, and add it to yours.
